- Altapedia Online Altapedia Online contains full color physical maps, political maps as well as key facts and statistics on countries of the world.
CANADA
- Atlas of Canada/L'atlas du Canada The Atlas of Canada Web site provides a comprehensive collection of maps and related information about Canada available anywhere on the Internet.
EUROPE
HISTORICAL
- David Rumsey Map Collection The David Rumsey Historical Map Collection has over 13,600 maps online. The collection focuses on rare 18th and 19th century North and South America maps and other cartographic materials.
UNITED STATES
- Harvard Map Collection from the HCL Libraries America's oldest map collection with over half a million maps, atlases from the 15th century to the present, gazetteers, and reference books on the history and science of cartography.
- Library of Congress Map Collections from the American Memory. The Geography and Map Division of the Library of Congress holds more than 4.5 million items, of which Map Collections represents only a small fraction, those that have been converted to digital form.The focus of Map Collections is Americana and Cartographic Treasures of the Library of Congress. These images were created from maps and atlases and, in general, are restricted to items that are not covered by copyright protection.
WORLD
- National Geographic Map Machine National Geographic's redesigned online atlas gives you the world. Find nearly any place on Earth, and view it by population, climate, and much more. Plus, browse antique maps, find country facts, or plan an outdoor adventure with trail maps.
- Worldmapper: the world as you've never seen before. This website contains a large collection of maps (and associated information) with each map relating to a particular subject. Click on the 'Thumbnail Index' which gives thumbnail previews of the maps, 'Map Categories' which is classified to see the choice, or a new option 'A-Z Map Index', and view a map and associated information.
